About Us

For nearly 50 years, the Greenville Zoo Foundation has been a driving force behind one of the Upstate’s most beloved institutions. What began in 1975 as the Foothills Friends of the Zoo has evolved into a dedicated nonprofit partner, raising critical support for the animals, habitats, and educational programs that make the Greenville Zoo such a special place.

As the Zoo’s official 501(c)(3) fundraising arm, we’re committed to ensuring that every visitor—from first-timers to lifelong members—experiences the wonder of wildlife in a vibrant, enriching environment. Whether it’s funding new exhibits, supporting conservation efforts, or creating meaningful learning experiences for local students, the Foundation is here to amplify the Zoo’s impact, one project at a time.

Our Mission

The Greenville Zoo Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing financial, advocacy, and resource support for the Greenville Zoo. Our mission is to enrich the community by supporting engaging animal experiences, connecting people to wildlife, and advancing conservation and education.

Our Vision

The Greenville Zoo Foundation envisions a thriving, community-centered zoo in the heart of Greenville, SC—dedicated to exceptional animal care, education, conservation, and family-friendly experiences. Through strategic fundraising and advocacy, we’re helping to build a future where generations can laugh, learn, and connect with wildlife in a place we’re proud to call our own.
